1. In the Complex Sentences, there are two kinds of Clauses.They are - Principal Clause and Subordinate Clause.
2. Subordinate means- lower in position or dependent. So, the Subordinate Clause depends on the Principal Clause.

1. He is too weak to carry the bag.
Ans: He is very weak and so he cannot carry the bag.
2. The bird is too small to fly.
Ans: The bird is very small and so it cannot fly.

Ans: I worked hard, but I could not succeed.
4. We went there to meet him.
Ans: We went there and met him.
5. I praised him for his result.
Ans: He showed his result, so I praised him.
6. Having finished the work, I went away.
Ans: I finished the work and went away.
7. Coming home, I started to work.
Ans: I came home and started to work.
8. Besides being beautiful, she is intelligent.
Ans: She is not only beautiful but also intelligent.
9. Inspite of his poverty, he never goes astray.
Ans: He is poor, but he never goes astray.
10. Inspite of being rich, he is not arrogant.
Ans: He is rich, but he is not arrogant.
11. You must walk fast to meet him.
Ans: You must walk fast or you will not meet him.
12. Being ill, I did not go there.
Ans: I was ill and did not go there.
13. Being lazy, Rakesh failed.
Ans: Rakesh was lazy and failed.

Very Important:

1. In the Compound Sentences, there are Co- Ordinate Clauses.
2. Co-ordinate means- equal in rank or importance. So, the Co-ordinate Clauses are independent.

Let's see:

1. Though Jack is poor, he is honest.
Ans: Jack is poor, but he is honest.
2. If you work hard, you will succeed.
Ans: Work hard and you will succeed.
3. I know that he is honest.
Ans: He is honest and I know it.
4. Though my brother is brave, he is careless.
Ans: My brother is brave , but he is careless.
5. If you cannot help me, leave me alone.
Ans: Help me or leave me alone.
6. As soon as the rain stopped, we went out.
Ans: The rain stopped and we went out.
7. As he is ill, he cannot read.
Ans: He is ill, so he cannot read.
8. I saw a man who was singing.
Ans: I saw a man and he was singing.
9. I have a friend who is a singer.
Ans: I have a friend and he is a singer.
10. If I do not do this, I will be unable to perform.
Ans: Let me do this, otherwise I will be unable to perform.
11. If you do not work hard, you cannot expect more.
Ans: Work hard, otherwise you cannot expect more.

You should know the patterns of Simple, Complex and Compound Sentences.
But how?

The easiest way is:

1. Generally, there are no Conjunctions in the Simple Sentences which are used in Complex and Compound Sentences.
2. You should know the Conjunctions in a separate way which are used in both Complex and Compound Sentences.
3.Having understood these things, make 10 sentences per day and show them to an English teacher.
