Ans- This is the boy whom I met yesterday. •Combining by Neither..nor- 1. I have not met him. I have not written to him. Ans- I have neither met nor written to him. 2. He does not write. He does not read. Ans- He neither writes nor reads. •Combining by And-

Now, miscellaneous examples- 1. The hunter looked over the rock. He saw the man- eater. Ans- Having looked over the rock,the hunter saw the man-eater. 2. The baby walked. The mother walked along. Ans- The mother walked along with the baby. 3. They live in a village. It is ten miles away. Ans- They live in a village which is ten miles away. 4. He tried hard. He failed in the examination. Ans- Though he tried hard, he failed in the examination. Or, He tried hard, but he failed in the examination. 5. He is hardworking. He is also intelligent. Ans- He is not only hardworking, but also intelligent. 6. You will do the best. There is no doubt about it. Ans- There is no doubt that you will do the best. 7. My friend died young. It was unfortunate. Ans- It was unfortunate that my friend died young. 8. I know the man. He stood first. Ans- I know the man who stood first. 9. He said something. I could not understand it. Ans- He said something which I could not understand. Or, I could not understand what he said. 10. He is a writer. Do you know him? Ans- Do you know him who is a writer? 11. He is a writer.
