Do you find difficult to pronounce-- "day" and "they" ?

As John Norley says, "All things are difficult before they are easy."

So,be positive and try hard.Gradually, you will find it easy.

You do know, English is the most widely spoken language to-day with countries from all the continents using it as their mother tongue or a second language.

Please feel it.

IMPROVING PRONUNCIATION EXERCISES

To-day, I am going to show the difference of pronunciation between "day" and "they".

Here, you have to see two things---
1. Consonant Sounds.
2. Vowel Sounds.

The only difference is in the Consonant Sounds. The sound of "d" is different from the one of "th".

Let's move on--
Look at the figures-----

In figure no 1, the part that is just behind our upper front teeth is called Teeth Ridge. To make the sound of "d" , the tip of our tongue touches the Teeth Ridge in firm contact(tightly) as shown in the second figure. Then, it is released suddenly with an explosive sound.

In a nutshell, you can say, the tip of tongue touches the Teeth Ridge in firm contact(tightly).

Now, practise these words-----

day, dim, doll, dynamic, drill, dog...

But the way of making the sound of "th" is different.

Let's move on--
Look at the figure--

To make the sound of "th", the tongue makes a light contact to the upper front teeth. There is a narrow gap between these two parts. The air comes out with friction.

In a nutshell, you can say, there is a narrow gap between the tip of tongue and the upper front teeth. Then, give out the air.

Now, practise these words-----
they, this, the, that, then...
I hope, you are able to make these sounds.

Nothing is impossible.

To be clear more, practise these sentences--
1. This is a bad day.
2. This is my dog.
3. The dog is there.
